What is summary dissolution?
Summary dissolution is a shorter, simpler divorce process for couples who meet strict requirements. You and your spouse file a Joint Petition for Summary Dissolution (FL-800) together, there are no court hearings in most cases, and you avoid much of the paperwork of a regular divorce. We prepare your forms for $695 plus court fees.
Do you qualify?
Generally, all of these must be true:
- Married less than 5 years (from marriage to separation)
- No children together, and no one pregnant
- No real estate (land or a house)
- Limited community property and debts, within the limits set by the court
- Both spouses agree on how to divide property and waive spousal support
- Both spouses sign the petition
If you don’t qualify, see our uncontested divorce from $695 or the joint petition FL-700.
